Parker Xpress. Standardize, don't compromise.
Parker's Xpress PAC system implements the standard for PLC programming --
IEC61131-3 -- but still retains all the powerful control features of the ACR
family. Motion can be generated using PLCopen function blocks or the
flexible AcroBASIC language. Whether you are a PLC expert or an ACR expert, you'll
hit the ground running developing your motion and logi programs. Pair it with
Interact Xpress and your machine control experience is complete.

Our newest LCR and MX45 actuators squeeze into tight spaces.

The LCR positioners are ideal for OEM instrument
manufacturers looking to maximize ROI yet retain the simplicity of an off-the-shelf
solution. A complete package with motor and drive, bearings, seals and sensors offered
with multiple drive train options and variable lengths and cross sections.
The MX45S is based on the award-winning MX80 family so you know it is a reliable
positioner for even tighter spaces. This ultra-compact design has +/- 1 um
repeatability and travels up to 25 mm.

Parker introduces EtherCAT servo functionality!
Parker's Compax3 servo drives now
offer EtherCAT motion-bus compatibility. EtherCAT is an
open, real-time network operating over fast Ethernet at 100
Mbit. The Compax3 implements EtherCAT as a controlled node
using the standard CAN over EtherCAT DS402 object library.
See for yourself how applications in tube bending, pharmaceutical
automation, life science and food and beverage have benefitted from
EtherCAT.

Stealth Gen II. So much more than just a
planetary gearhead.
The Stealth
Generation II planetary gearheads incorporate
design enhancements to provide superior
performance for the most demanding
high-performance applications. The Gen II
family provides higher radial loads and
increased service life for improved
performance. Helical planetary gearing
provides high torque and low backlash.
Universal mounting kits allow for faster
delivery times and simplified mounting. The
best part, all of our gearheads are proudly
manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility
in the USA.

Solid State Storage
It's the
Holy Grail that we all strive for in our
industrial automation designs. Of course,
there are many challenges along the way:
mechanical components that wear over time,
systems that require periodic maintenance and
the dreaded unexpected failure. With all of
this to worry about on the mechanical side of
the design it is particularly troubling when
an electronic component like an HMI or
Industrial PC fails.

Shatter the thrust force and life
barrier with the new ETH cylinder!
Parker has completely
re-engineered the ET cylinder into a
next-generation ball screw actuator product
that delivers equivalent thrust forces and
life to that of a similar-sized roller screw
product. Up to five times the force and ten
times the life of it's predecessor!

cylinders

Text Etiquette in IEC61131
If you
thought this was yet another blog telling you
if it's appropriate to text while driving
(never!) , during meetings (with caution) or
sending personal photos (with extreme
caution!), then you're in the wrong place.
No, today I'm here to talk about my favorite
of the IEC61131 programming languages,
Structured Text. As someone who started off
with BASIC and Pascal, then moved to Visual
Basic before sampling a variety of Basic-like
motion languages, Structured Text (ST) is
certainly in my comfort zone.
